LCA summer-university 2005
July 18-22 in Copenhagen
A week full of intellectual challenge, advanced computer exercises, inspiring lectures, and lots of fun with LCA colleagues.
Audience: Practitioners with minimum 2 years experience with LCA and Ph.D. students. You are expected to bring your own lab-top computer for the exercises. Some preparatory homework (approx. 2 days) is expected.
Detailed scientific programme
Monday
- Using Input-Output databases in practice. The US-american, European, Danish and others… Exercises with real-life examples using SimaPro.
Tuesday
- Uncertainty calculations in SimaPro.
- New social and economic impact categories – data, impact pathways and normalisation values.
Wednesday
- Hybrid LCA in SimaPro. Combining Ecoinvent with Input-Output-databases.
- Different methods for toxicity assessment (IMPACT 2002, EDIP 2003) using inventory data from Ecoinvent and Input-Output databases.
Thursday
- Developing Input-Output databases. Linking several countries. Introducing market-adjustments. Adding new emissions across all industry sectors.
- Site-specific impact assessment for eutrophication, acidification, photochemical ozone – The new EDIP 2003 method.
Friday
- Modelling waste treatment in SimaPro.
- Endpoint modelling to single scores – DALYs or Euro?
