Marginal electricity mixes per country
From three different consequential scenarios, inventories of electricity mixes per country are made available together with an attributional inventory based on consistent modelling assumptions and consistent data.
Together with Danisco, 2.-0 LCA has initiated an electricity project with the aim of establishing consequential and attributional LCIs on electricity in different countries. The project is established as a club to which anyone can subscribe. The LCA electricity club is administrated by 2.-0 LCA consultants and data are now available for the following countries/regions: Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, China, Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, India, EU, Malaysia, Mexico, United Stated and the World.
Sample reports:
Main characteristics of the project:
- The inventories for different countries are based on consistent modelling assumptions and consistent data
- The processes are created applying attributional as well as three different scenarios of consequential modelling. The three scenarios for consequential LCA includes: clca (future), clca (historical) and clca (coal)
- The LCIs are transparently documented and can easily be implemented in any LCA
- The project solves years of debate on what is marginal electricity, and it serves the option for subscribers using a consistent global approach for electricity in all countries
- If imported in the ecoinvent library project in SimaPro, it is possible to switch between the different modelling assumptions – this also includes that the electricity being used in almost all processes of the ecoinvent database (Electricity, production mix UCTE/UCTE U) is affected by the switch
The club is open for everyone. The price of subscription is 2000 EUR. Subscription gives access to:
- the current version of the LCA reports at the time of subscription as well as future updates
- choosing one country, which is not already included in the study, to be included in the LCA electricity club (description in LCA report as well as CSV file for import in SimaPro)
- SimaPro CSV file including all electricity processes for import in ecoinvent in SimaPro. The CSV file includes switches which enables for switching between attributional and three scenarios of consequential modeling
It is possible to buy electricity data for one single country without being a member of the LCA electricity club. This includes an intro/methodology report and a country specific inventory report. Price: 300 EUR for already established data (see list above) and 600 EUR for new data.
